Great Toy!! June 8, 2010 Mercedes L. Johnmeyer (Kingsland, GA) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my 2 year old son who loves cars and 'Little People' toys. He couldn't wait for me to hurry up and put it together (which is very easy to do...snap some pieces in place, screw in 6 screws, then pop in the ramps). I did that at around 6pm...he played with it till his 8pm bedtime, stopping only long enough to eat some dinner.
I recommend pretty much anything from the 'Little People' line for toddlers. We have a bunch of different products of theirs (the airplane, pirate ship, firehouse, the farmhouse and silo, etc.) and I haven't been disappointed by a single one...neither has my boy. He plays with them all the time. I think the big selling point for this ramp was the size...it's almost as big as him! He just races those little cars over and over, and the when they hit the bottom it lights up and makes various sounds. I'm VERY happy with this purchase!
Appeals to a Wide Range of Ages July 8, 2010 New in VT (Vermont, USA) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I was shopping for something that would be fun for a 1 YO and an almost 4 YO and this definitely fit the bill!
Pros:
- You can play with this from BOTH sides so 2 kiddos can play without bumping into each other, thus making it great for sharing.
- Its relatively thin so although its a larger toy, it can be moved off to the side to make space.
- Its pretty sturdy, the 1 YO can hold on to it, walk around it, etc. without it toppling over.
- Assembly is super easy.
- So far both kids plus others who have come to play have all made good use of it.
- It does make a little noise but its not deafening loud like some toddler toys and doesn't really factor into the toy's playability.
Cons:
- There is very little opportunity for creative play with this item. Rolling cars down the track (or racing them) is great fun but that's more or less the extent of it. (Perhaps in time my peanuts will prove me wrong on this.)
- Other cars (matchbox et al) do not roll well on this track as they are too heavy and go flying off.
Bottom Line: There are lots of toddler toys in this price range which we have found to be annoyingly loud, boring for older kids, and difficult to share. So for our purposes, this was definitely a worthy purchase!
Really neat toy! June 6, 2010 Squeal (Los Angeles, CA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
We've had this toy a couple of days and it has been a huge hit with our 13 month old son. He loves putting the cars down the ramps. Sometimes he puts the cars on upside down, but that's OK because they still slide on down anyway. The sounds that the set makes when the cars reach the bottom of the ramp are very neat and they are not too loud or annoying, as some other toys can be. This toy seems pretty sturdy and was not too difficult to put together - I did it in about 15 minutes and I'm not usually the one who builds the toys in our family, so I consider that good. I'm really pleased with this purchase. I think my son is going to get many more months of play with this toy, especially as he learns how to use the elevator and mechanic lift. He loves the cars that come with it quite a bit, so I'm definitely planning on buying more of the Wheelies collection when they come out. I highly recommend this new Fisher price playset!
Love it! June 4, 2010 Lynch (South Carolina, USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
We put this together for our 17 month old son last night and he had so much fun playing with it and watching us play with it too. He did try to climb on it, but it was sturdy enough to survive - and he loves the lift on the side, he must have put it up and down 10 times at least - I can't wait for him to play with it again!
AWESOME TOY!! July 6, 2010 LovinParenthood 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Bought this for our 2 year old - both he and our 4 year old LOVE playing with this. The extra Wheelies that you can buy to go with it are so cute. The train is our favorite. Both boys can sit or stand to play with it. They even put matchbox cars on it and they do great too. WONDERFUL TOY - well worth the money spent!!
