My son sleeps with it :) July 27, 2008 C. Levy 27 out of 28 found this review helpful
Of all the different versions of Wall-e, I tried to convince my 6-year-old son to get one of the small action figures because he could get more characters for his Wall-E budget, but he wanted one of the big ones. And even though he saw that there was a choice between this one, the RC version and the one that interacts, as soon as he saw that this one transformed into a box he HAD to have it. Since it was the least expensive I thew in the clean-up M-O toy, too, so Wall-E would have a pal. It's been a few weeks now and Wall-E hasn't left my son's side, not even at bedtime. He talks to him, he acts out scenes from the movie (we bought the soundtrack, too, which helps with that), and he CONSTANTLY opens and closes him. So I know the toy is rugged because it's gone through some serious play tests! My son doesn't mind that there aren't bells, whistles, beeps -- or even that the treads aren't as big as they are on the "real" Wall-E. And I like that, too -- he gets to use his imagination instead of the toy doing everything for him.
It's eyes can wiggle a bit for different expressions, his "head" turns around, his arms move open and up and down and there are wheels on the bottom of the treads (the treads don't really turn. The front panel opens to reveal a picture of crushed garbage and other than that it has non-moving parts that are reminiscent of the "real" Wall-E (like the play/record/stop buttons, even though they don't move). So it's a great representation of the movie character. We purchased it for about $20 retail and it was worth every penny.
My son never gets bored!! June 7, 2009 J. Poythress (east coast) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Amazing how expensive this toy is getting. Very easy to operate, my 2.5 yr. old can do it. You can manipulate wall-E's eyes, fingers, and legs, very much like he moved in the movie. A great toy if you love the movie, or even if you haven't seen it. A+++ Toy!
MY KID AND I LOVE IT! July 29, 2008 Mark Marrison Unlike the other review listed here I and my two year old daughter find this toy very easy to transform. Every time she presses the button to release one of the hidden portions her eyes light up and she laughs. I am a collector of toys myself and I found that this is one of the better Disney toys I've ever seen in my life. Highly recommended!
Cube up! January 12, 2009 S. J. Prikockis (Florence, KY) Our son (4yrs old) talked of nothing but getting this toy for Christmas after seeing the movie, even before we were sure if such a toy even existed. Fortunately it did! Since Christmas, this Wall-E has gone everywhere with him, and has endured (very well, I might add) a fair amount of rough love. I was concerned that the 'transforming' features may break or stop working properly if he forced them the wrong way, but so far so good. I was glad to see that the head, after it popped off the first time, pops right back on with ease. Kudos to the manufacturers on this one, it's as durable as its animated namesake.
Nice but somehow expensive January 12, 2009 winglet13 (FL USA) It almost totally captures Wall.E's transforming capability, great fun!
However, the price varies on Amazon. For me, under $[...] is fair enough, otherwise is not worthy for this toy.
